Burton Fire District’s Commissioner Cornelius Dorsey resigned from the Commission Board in November 2007. He was presented with a plaque for his eight years of service at the Commissioners meeting on Wednesday.

821 First Due in Grays Hill

On February 25, 2008 Burton Fire District was dispatched to 16 Smith Road for a structure fire. Engine 821 was on detail to Grays Hill Station for medical training and was first in. Captain Cooper reported a working fire on the first floor of a two story single family dwelling extending to the second floor.

Burton takes first place in paramedic competition

In their second year of competition, Burton Fire District's paramedics team has qualified for the state South Carolina Emergency Medical Services Network championship April 17 in Myrtle Beach.

Firefighters/paramedics Tradd Mills and Anthony Simmons won the Lowcountry Regional Paramedic Competition on Feb. 16 in Charleston, beating out 12 other Lowcountry teams.
